Hello, Friend.
Our family is in Missouri this week celebrating my daughter Rebekah's graduation from nursing school. The ceremony was last Friday, but I can still hear the refrains of "Pomp and Circumstance" playing in my head.
When I sent out last week's link list of things to celebrate in May, I forgot all about the fact that this month also marks the beginning of graduation season.
So, just in case cap and gown photos and commencement announcements are starting to pile up in your mailbox like they are in ours -- or you're celebrating a graduate of your own -- I'm making that the theme of this week's link list. Enjoy!
We finished another installment in the Penderwick series, which we enjoyed even more than the first book. In The Penderwicks on Gardam Street, the four young sisters conspire to sabotage their widowed father's half-hearted attempt at dating, despite the fact their late mother had penned an impassioned letter urging him to find another life partner -- and their Aunt is determined to help him do it.
We're enjoying more home cooked meals from Hello Fresh. Since our present accommodations have a full kitchen, we even took a couple of kits on vacation with us: Spicy Sweet Turkey Stir Fry and Brown Sugar Bourbon Apple Pork Chops.
We checked off everything on my to-do list from last week: ✅ open house, ✅ graduation, ✅ trip to Missouri.
Thanks to all who responded to last week's poll about moving. I appreciate you perspective -- especially those of you who view moving as an adventure and listed so many positives you see in moving -- and moving frequently! I'm going to do my best to adopt your cheerful outlook, grateful that I haven't lost everything I own in a house fire or had to move 15 times in 13 years (or 9 in 9 or so many times I've stopped counting). Whew! What troopers you are!
This week's question: I'm interested in hearing your perspective on higher education. Do you think college is worth the cost? Why or why not? Have you found any alternatives you like better? Hit reply and tell me about them!
