Hello Reader,

Father's Day is just a few days away. If your father is still around, consider this your reminder to get your card in the mail today or make plans now to call or visit him on Sunday. And to help make the day extra special for Dad, I'm devoting this week's link list to the topic. Enjoy!

Free resources for you this week:

What I'm reading this week:

by Gordon Korman

We're big fans of Gordon Korman (Schooled, Restart, The Fort, etc.), so when I spotted Whatshisface on sale in Audible recently, I bought it without knowing anything about it except the author.

We started listening on a recent roadtrip, but quit several chapters in as we weren't sure about the direction the book was taking, and we had grandkids in the car.

But my husband and I finished listening together in private and really enjoyed the witty dialogue between the main character, Whatshisface, and the 17th century ghost who appeared to be trapped in his phone.

On the podcast this week:

Loving Life at Home: Episode 48

THE SUREST WAY TO GET WHERE YOU'RE GOING

Our family's on the road again this week heading to North Carolina.

As usual, we prayed in the driveway before we left home, asking God to watch over us while we’re traveling and keep us safe on the road.

A couple of other practices help make sure we get where we’re going β€” on vacation and in life.

Progress on last week's goals:

I finished almost all my goals last week: I βœ… put together 9 freezer meals, βœ… repaired the tile in my laundry room, βœ… reviewed two new games for Timberdoodle: Abducktion and LogiBugs, βœ… finished formatting last 10 days of my husband's Love Your Wife Challenge, and β€‹βœ… took a short trip to North Carolina with my family (we're still here).

The only thing I didn't finish was the proofreading, but I'm still waiting on those chapters to be sent!

My goals for this week:

  • tour area waterfalls
  • travel home from North Carolina
  • make a new batch of Winkie's Tonic
  • attend a friend's wedding
  • do a little watercolor painting
