Fall officially started in September, but our part of Texas is just now getting the message. Our family is camping out this week -- in tents, even! -- and the weather has been Goldilocks-approved: Not too hot. Not too cold. But just right.

What I'm reading this week:

I brought a small stack of books to read while sitting around the campfire this week. The first I finished wasAmazing Love by Corrie ten Boom. In it, the author shares many inspiring, powerful, and ofttimes miraculous tales from her own life, both as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps and as a Bible teacher and evangelist in the years following WWII. The chapters are short and read almost like a devotional, with lots of Bible passages referenced throughout. One verse Corrie seemed particularly fond of quoting was 1 John 3:8, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." That's a promise worth clinging to, isn't it?

On the podcast this week:

The Internet's a little spotty at our campsite, and since I didn't get my podcast recorded before we pitched tents, it certainly didn't happen after. But I've been getting lots of questions from readers and listeners lately and plan to begin tackling those starting next Monday.

Progress on last week's goals:

I marked off the majority of items on last week's to-do list, despite my being away from home for much of the week: I ✅ replaced the broken hinge on cabinet door, ✅ reupholstered the last four of my dining room chairs, but ❌ haven't (yet) posted step-by-step instructions for recovering seat cushions, ✅ made ten freezer meals, ✅ sent a new monthly Bible memory challenge to my kids and grandkids, ✅ made some fall-themed ornaments for my seasonal tree, ✅ went tent camping with my family (still here!), and ✅ submitted swag for the God-Centered Homeschool Summit (which is FREE and starts on Monday -- just click on this link to sign up)

Personal goals for next week:

• finish three more days of camping
• participate in trades day (tomorrow)
• do a few crafts with grandkids at camp
• crochet some acorns & pinecones for my fall tree
