Hello Reader,
Are you having a happy new year so far? We're four days in already. How are you faring on your goals and resolutions? Making progress?
I've stuck with most of mine so far, although my attempts to "exercise daily" have already grown half-hearted. Or maybe make that zero-hearted. I'm going through the motions, but my heart's not really in it at all.
Note to self: Come up with a better plan to get my heart pumping. Maybe dance tutorials?
On another note, there are lots of other fun things to celebrate in January besides measurable progress on your goals. This week's link list offers a small sample.
I've been listening to You Can Trust God to Write Your Story by Robert and Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and have found it both enjoyable and encouraging. The authors take turns reading the book, and it has been fun to listen to them telling the stories of both biblical, historical, and modern day believers and the journey God has taken each of them through for their good and His glory.
The kids and I are back to our homeschool lessons after a lengthy Christmas break, and that includes ten minutes of World Watch News every morning. If you're looking for a great way to stay abreast of current events shared from a Christian worldview, I highly recommend any of the publications, podcasts, and video journalism World Magazine provides, including this current events curriculum for kids.
I β visited out-of-town relatives, β babysat grandkids, β made a serious dent in my inbox, and β wrote all but one of my thank you notes, but I'm β still not finished with my semester lesson plans. (My two youngest boys each decided to squeeze in one more CLEP test before co-op/college classes resume, so we're winging the rest of our school lessons for the time being.)
Have you found a form of exercise you really love? Hit reply and tell me about it! I need some motivation to get up and get moving. π
